In a 12 ha climate-controlled greenhouse located in Al Ain, the Al Dahra BayWa joint venture grows tomatoes to supply the local market year-round. By using state-of-the-art greenhouse technology and bringing together competencies, the experienced international team has proven that year-round production of tomatoes to European standards is possible even in this demanding climate zone.
In this way, the project contributes to the United Arab Emirates’ target of increasing the availability of locally grown food and self-sufficiency. From rearing seedlings to cultivation and packaging, all the companie´s processes are located within the greenhouse in Al Ain.
Thanks to efficient customer service from a single source and short distances to the retail shelves, the diverse range of products stands for quality and freshness. Under the company’s own brands “Mahalli” and “Eve”, tomatoes from Al Ain can be found in the local retail year round.
